Artwork done by children ages 5-12

What our most recent class created:

From the instructor:

"We looked at the sunflower paintings of Vincent Van Gogh and Claude Monet from the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist time period. Then focusing on pictures of real sunflowers we began our project. First drawing oil pastel outlines on black paper, the children rendered their sunflowers in chalk pastels, starting with the petals and moving on to the sunflower heads and background. Although chalk pastels is not the easiest medium to work with and is quite messy, it is also a lot of fun!

Our Holy Card for this week was from Genesis 1:29: And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of the earth…”
