"Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord." - James 5:14
The purpose of the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick, previously referred to as Last Rites, is to bestow special graces upon Catholics who are suffering from serious illnesses, are close to death or are experiencing the impairment of old age. It is a sacrament administered by the priest, who will come to you accompanied by our Parish Religious Sister Mary Ellen Genova.
