My name is Kate Suba and I am a student at St. Rose School
working on my Bronze Star Award for Junior Girl Scouts. As part of
my project I am promoting awareness about Celiac Disease. Celiac
Disease is a digestive disorder that occurs when a person eats
gluten (wheat, rye, barely) causing a negative reaction in the
intestines. This prevents the food from being properly absorbed.
For those who have this disease St. Rose Church offers a "Gluten
Friendly" host. This host only contains a minute trace of wheat,
but can be tolerated by many people with Celiac Disease. For more
information on how to receive this host please call the parish
office at (203) 426-1014.
