Here are ways to become involved and to enrich the Mass experiences for you and the entire parish community: |
Special Ministers of The EucharistPope Paul VI's 1973 encyclical, IMMENSAE CARITATIS, restored
this pre-ninth century practice of entrusting the Eucharist to lay people.
The first four lay ministers at St. Rose were commissioned in 1976 to
encourage and facilitate access to Holy Communion. Today 104 trained and
active lay ministers serve at the five weekend Masses and bring the Eucharist
to the homebound who request it. An additional nine ministers make bedside
visits and conduct prayer services with Holy Communion at a nearby nursing
home. Twelve trained, inactive ministers substitute from time to time. |

UshersWe help to maintain order in the Church during Masses
through assistance with seating, administering of the offertory and special
collections and generally attending to parishioner comfort. If you have
special needs in the Church, we will be happy to help you. Men and women of
the parish are invited to join us. |
Altar ServersThe participation of Altar Servers in our liturgy is a
long-standing tradition in the Catholic Church that has its roots in
vocational training. This is a wonderful opportunity for our young ladies and
young men, grade 4 and older, to experience Mass from "inside" the
Liturgy and grow in Christ. Our young Altar Servers look back upon this
service with a feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment. Not surprisingly,
many adults also find this ministry rewarding. We provide all the training
and guidance you will need. Why not sign up, if you have the slightest urge
to participate in this ministry? |

GreetersOur ministry is simple. We welcome people to all Masses and
try to set an open and friendly tone. We want to help our parishioners and
guests enter with a smile that will enhance their Church experience and
perhaps even last the whole day. We could always use more happy faces to help
us! Adorers You are invited to sign up to spend an hour on First Fridays, once a month, with Jesus, Who is truly present in the Blessed Sacrament. We are trying to have 4 adorers for each hour so if an adorer cannot come some day, they will have at least one prayer partner to reach and be sure someone is with the Lord. Please call Queta Donovan 426 2153 Or sign up in the vestibule in the blue Adoration binder The
Lord will be exposed after 9:00 am Mass, the Rosary will be said, and silent
adoration will follow. At 4 pm. we will pray as a community The Chaplet of
the Divine Mercy, have 15 minutes of silence - 4:45 Evening Prayer and
Benediction. Come to be blessed by the Lord Himself. Adoration will end by
5:00 PM. *Please sign our First Friday Adoration Register in the vestibule of the Church whether you are a visitor or regular adorer! |
